MICHAEL LUMB: My FUE Hair Transplant
The Full Interview
Former England cricketer Michael Lumb was nervous what others might say if he had a hair transplant.
But after his first visit to MHR Clinic he felt completely at ease with the idea of restoring his hair. Now, with a full head of healthy hair, he explains why the simple and easy transplant process was nothing to fear.
When fellow England cricketer Michael Lumb saw the results of his pal Michael Vaughan’s hair procedures undertaken at MHR Clinic he immediately wanted to know where they were done.
Lumb, who was thinning on top, had already considered a hair transplant but was unsure what the procedure entailed and was worried by what others might say if he went ahead with it.
The hard-hitting batsman recalled: “When I saw Vaughany’s new head of hair I was amazed. It looked great and gave me the confidence to go ahead and do the same for myself. It made the decision a simple one for me.
“Hair loss can be a sensitive topic but it doesn’t have to be. Working with the MHR Clinic team was an absolute pleasure. From the first consultation all the way through the treatment and after-care, Craig and his team were unbelievable.
“Nothing was ever too much trouble. They made the process as simple and trouble-free as possible.”
“I feel more self-assured when I meet new people. And nobody can guess I’ve had a hair transplant because the results look totally natural.”
“I came down to see Craig for a consultation. He had a look at where I was with the growth of my hair and from there I went to see the surgeons,” he recalled. Michael’s relatively small transplant procedure was over in less than three hours.
He explained: “The transplant was a painless and easy procedure. It all happened in very little time and I was in and out of the surgery quickly.
“And the recovery was a lot easier than I thought too. I got over the procedure quickly. It took a couple of days, relaxing at home, to be ready for normal life again. After a week I could hardly tell anything had happened.
“All of it was just an easy thing to get through.”
“The whole process from start to finish is easy. It is something I look back on and I’m very glad I did.”
“The clinic is a relaxing environment and the team make you feel welcome and at home.”
The cricketer, who notched up 233 One Day International caps and a further 50 20Twenty International caps for England, began his aftercare programme within three weeks of his transplant.
He said: “I came into MHR Clinic to begin laser treatment and, again, it was an enjoyable experience. The clinic is a relaxing environment and the team make you feel welcome and at home.
“Each laser treatment session takes 40 minutes out of your day. You sit down and you can work if you need to. I typically used the time to answer emails, but you can equally read a newspaper or watch television.
“After each laser treatment session you collect your products to take home and then it is all about making sure you use them – whether it is the tablets, the serum or the shampoo. The MHR Clinic team advise you on how to do that. And that is it. That is the whole procedure.”
Now sporting a full head of hair and reaping a newfound confidence that ensures he gets the most out of life, the high-scoring batsman reflected on his initial with a knowing smile.
“The whole process from start to finish is easy. It is something I look back on and I’m very glad I did.
“Any doubts I had before I went to MHR Clinic were quickly put to bed. I had a lot of assurances from Craig and his team. They were very professional and organised, and I fully recommend their service.
“The results speak for themselves and I’m so happy I took action. I feel more self-assured when I meet new people. And nobody can guess I’ve had a hair transplant because the results look so natural.
“There is no question I would recommend MHR Clinic to everyone who is concerned about their hair. If they end up feeling half as good as I do now, having had a hair transplant, then they absolutely should go ahead with their procedure.”
